Good morning everyone!
Today is a new INSPIRATION : TUESDAY challenge, inspired by COLORS!
Even if this week is the BACK TO SCHOOL week, I wanted to work with bright, fresh, saturated colors in order to celebrate summer!
As usual, I don't really know what I'm going to make exactly : the more I look at my papers, the more I feel inspired and know what I'm going to do. I feel inspired by the colors, the textures and get started!
My theme this week? GREEDINESS! Yeah, I love good food (and you can definitely say so by seeing me!) and I try to fight against it and loose weight at the moment. The fight has been hard, so many temptations in our everyday life, but I know I can do it, I'll DO IT.
So, my greediness along with bright colors, don't you think they fit perfectly together?
Ok let's get started!
First of all, here's the supply list you'll need to make the layout...
- August kit from Studio Calico
- BlueEyeDesines polka dot felt brackets
- Basic Grey & American Crafts alphas
- Heidi Swapp plastic clock
- Color Wash (Pesto)
- fabric strawberry
- Zibuline flair
Step #1 : Choose your papers, fabric, transparencies with which you wanna work. Here, I let myself pick the ones I wanted to use the most, by the colors and the design, and I picked mainly all the stuff from my Studio Calico August kit :)
I just added a piece of fabric to give more texture on the background and to contrast between my background and the red paper.
Step #2 : I cut several pieces, without measuring, then I see where I can glue them.
I use an edge distresser for every single piece of paper, in order to age the edges of each piece of papers.
Step #3 : Before I glue everything down with double sided tape, I used my favorite Color Wash spray (hmmm me gusta la color PESTO!) on three tags.
Step #4 : Your layout design is already almost done. Now, feel free to move your photo(s) around your layout to see where you're gonna glue it.
Step #5 : I prepare a long piece of paper with an edge distresser. This piece will be used as a ribbon.
Step #6 : Then use a crop-a-dile to make holes (TIP : you can definitely put thread, stickles, or a black pen to decorate each hole once the paper is glued on your background).
Step #7 : Once your long piece of paper is glued on paper, you can use some stamps here and there, to add more depth to your work.
Then use a colorful rubon on top of patterned paper or stamps (still to get more depth on your layout).
Then glue your felt embellies.
Step #8 : Now decorate your layout with embellishments. I used Color Wash (pesto) here and there on my layout.
Add your title (with two different typos), ON your photos, then a little flair button.
The cute Heidi Swapp clock will add transparency to my layout.
And here are some close-up pictures of my layout...
Now I'm REALLY looking forward to seeing WHAT YOU GONNA DO!
I hope that you like this new layout and see you on THURSDAY for a NEW GIVEAWAY that you will loooooooooooove! :)
Have a wonderful day!
