Hi everyone! how are you today?
Today is a new INSPIRATION : TUESDAY and I've prepared another new layout for your own viewing pleasure :)
Most of my layout was made using the august kit from Kits de Somni, one of my dear sponsors, from Spain :) Mireia made awesome kits, always with amazing products from your favorite companies!
Last week, when I was cleaning up my craft space (yeah, I sometimes end up cleaning my room, not often though, but it's just to "find" what is beneath all the mess on my desk!), I realized that I had lots and lots of BRADS.
When I order products for my classes, I alays end up with left overs brads, ribbons, buttons and more, and we have to admit that most scrapbookers never use every single embellishment bought on their scrapbooks (me included!).
So what do you think about giving your BRADS a second chance?
First of all, here's what you'll need to make this layout...
- Kits de Somni august kit
- Sassafras cards
- some brads
- a needle
- a Creative Café tag
- Dame de Kit apple fabric embellishment
HEre's a picture of the kit I used. Just know that you get way more stuff that what's on the photo (you get Jenni Bowlin chipboard buttons, more papers, lace paper from Basic Grey...).
Step #1 : First of all, pick the photo you would like to use and use fabric to mat your picture (you get the piece of fabric in your kit too). I used double sided tape to glue my photo on the fabric and the fabric on my background.
Step #2 : I used the Basic Grey lace paper as a template to make the holes for my brads.
here's my box full of left over brads, buttons and what not's!
Step #3 : Using a needle, make holes. Following the template, you'll get a perfect line of holes for your brads!
Step #4 : Put your brads one after the other, always trying to use different sizes of brads, in order to "get rid" of the perfection of the line.
Step #5 : Here, I used small Sassafras cards that are just perfect to use as embellishments on layouts or mini albums. I love their texture, color and design!
Don't hesitate to move the cards around on your background to see the perfect place for the cards.
Step #6 : Attach the lace on your picture with staples. I wanted to glue the little fabric apple on the right corner of my photo here but I ended up putting it elsewhere (that's why it's important to move things around before you glue them down!).
Step #7 : I fell in love with these Studio Calico wonderful threads. They are just perfect for chipboard buttons, buttons, or to bind mini albums.
Step #8 : Use the Basic Grey lace again as a template to create little square embellishments.
And here are several close-up pictures of the layout...
What about you now? I'm sure you have lots and lots of brads on your desk and that you are looking forward to using them for your next projects!
I can't wait to see wht you come up with! :)
See you on THURSDAY for a new giveaway and next TUESDAY for a new Inspiration Tuesday!
Thank you for visiting and leaving comments, it's alays a pleasure to hear from you!
