While you’d struggle to find somebody who loves their job 100% of the time, you must ensure that you find a career that you are passionate about or that excites you. You should also make sure that you give yourself the opportunity to explore all of your wildest dreams and fantasies - both within your workplace and beyond. This means that if you spend the majority of your dreaming of sun-filled skies and a life beyond your desk - it may be time to take a risk and move abroad.

However, moving abroad means that you’ll have to leave your current job, which could put you at risk of financial insecurity if you do not find a replacement right away. Nevertheless, this does not mean that you should delay your dreams - as there are many careers which you can get started on now that will enable you to work abroad.

With that in mind, here are three new careers that you should consider if you want to move abroad.

Teaching English as a second language

If you dream of moving to a country where the primary language is not English, such as Vietnam, you could easily find work as a teacher. Not only is this career incredibly rewarding - whether your students are children or adults - it can quickly become a long-term career and open a lot of doors moving forward. However, you must obtain the appropriate accreditations ahead of time so that you can teach your students to the best of your ability. For example, you could participate in the ILA Vietnam program, which, upon completion, serves as an internationally recognized qualification in teaching.

Working in hospitality

Destinations that expect large influxes of tourists each year are always on the lookout for hospitality staff - whether this means you work behind the reception at a hotel or try your hand at mixing cocktails at a beachside bar. If you choose to work within this industry, try to get a little hospitality experience on your CV before the big move, as this will help you settle into your new career much quicker. Alternatively, you should make it clear in your CV that your previous employment has allowed you to obtain a variety of transferable skills that you can use in your new position - such as the ability to communicate with a wide variety of people.

Working as a freelancer

Working as a freelancer provides you with great professional freedom - not only does it give you the opportunity to make money online or turn your passions into a career, it also means that you can work from pretty much anywhere in the world. This is because you are in control of your schedule and can control your workflow accordingly, meaning you won’t be restricted in the kind of work you can carry out. You can also work with an international client base no matter where you may be located. Therefore, if you want to move abroad, you may want to consider making the leap to becoming a freelancer or launching your own business
